Sign Health Contract to Protect Consumer “3•15” Activities Held in Xuhui District
Xuhui District Market Supervision and Administration joins hands with Xuhui District Consumers Council to hold consultation activity on site

In the morning of “3•15” World Consumer Rights Day, a healthcare lecture co-sponsored by Xuhui District Market Supervision and Administration and Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd unveiled the theme-day activity this year.
“Community Care” is a public hall of Xuhui District to create community culture, gather community spirit and enhance neighborhood harmony. In the Changqiao Sub-street “Community Care”, Bi Linli, the National Labor’s Day Meda Winner and Shanghai Model Laborer taught the Medicine and Food Homology Category Identification & Proper Usage for senior citizens on site, and Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd also invited TCM expert to interact with citizens on healthcare topic. On the scene, medicine and food homology category, precious and segmented TCM healthcare product demonstration was held, to help the elderly identify. He Qi , the Chief of consumer protection section of Xuhui District Market Supervision and Administration told reporter that in recent years, there were a large number of elderly consumption disputes for buying healthcare products; this time, led by Xuhui District Market Supervision and Administration, the contract is signed with Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd to penetrate special healthcare knowledge into the community; in the future, the group specialists will periodically educate the elderly on health tips in some locations, to avoid the elderly misconception on heath, as well as “health product” trap, and protect life of the elderly.
On the same day, in the main venue of Xiang Yang Park, Xuhui District Market Supervision and Administration joined hands with Xuhui District Consumers Council to hold onsite consultation activity. Xuhui District Commission of Commerce, Xuhui District Tourism Administration, Xuhui District Tobacco Monopoly Bureau and other administrative departments, relevant industry associations, some shopping malls and district industry association liaison stations, etc were invited to form the consulting team, provide onsite consultation of relevant food safety, quality safety and consumer safety laws and regulations, and publicize consumer right protection knowledge, which also attracted a lot of citizens for consultation.
As the reporter learned from Xuhui District Market Supervision and Administration, in addition to the theme-day activity, during this year’s “3•15” period, Xuhui District Market Supervision and Administration has carried out the satisfaction assessment activity of satisfactory shopping mall establishment, concurrently launched the third party consumer satisfaction assessment on 11 shopping malls, sorted out a number of consumer right infringement cases, including food safety, price fraud, false promotion, etc., and announced to the society via media; meanwhile, inspected the business entities selling elderly scooter and non-motor vehicle in the district, investigated according to laws, and conducted special selective inspection on women’s daily necessities, etc., hopefully to strengthen the operator’s legal awareness of honesty, guide enterprises to voluntarily fulfill social responsibility of consumer right protection, and strive to build a safe consumption environment.
