Applying for Private Passport


Ⅰ.Citizen Private Passport of Going Abroad

Explanation: the final power to examine and approve belongs to Municipal Exit-Entry Administration Bureau.

Reference: LAW OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA ON THE CONTROL OF THE EXIT AND ENTRY OF CITIZENS and the DETAILED RULES OF IMPLEMENTATION.

Application procedures:

1. To fill in an Application Form for Chinese Citizen Travelling Abroad on Private Affairs;

2. To submit the residential registration booklet (or other certification of residence registration), valid ID. card and social insurance card;

3. To submit 3 recently-taken small two-inch (48*33MM), full-faced, and bareheaded photo chromes (white background, printing paper with mill finish);

4. The residence registration of object accepted must belong to this district, and he himself will apply for in person (Applicants who are under sixteen and over seventy can entrust relatives with the commission).

Time limit: 10 working days

Ⅱ.Travel for visiting relatives to Hong Kong and Macao

Reference: INTERIM MEASURES FOR THE CONTROL OF CHINESE CITIZENS TRAVELLING ON PRIVATE BUSINESS TO OR FROM THE REGIONS OF HONG KONG OR MACAO

Application procedures:

1. To fill in an Application Form for Shanghai Citizen to or from the Regions of Hong Kong or Macao;

2. To submit the residential registration booklet (or other certification of residence registration), valid ID. card;

3. To submit 3 recently-taken small two-inch (48*33MM), full-faced, and bareheaded photo chromes (the white background, the printing paper with mill finish);

4. Kinship certification (marriage certificate, certification of residence registration, notarial deed and birth certificate, etc.).It will be exempt from submission to revisit the same relative.

5. Valid ID. card of the relative in Hong Kong or Macao, Photocopy version of home visit permit (permit).

6. Former Permit for Traveling to and from Hong Kong and Macao. If the holder loses his Permit for Traveling to and from Hong Kong and Macao, please report a loss to the local police station, and then publish a certificate of declaring invalid in the newspaper of municipal level (Wenhui, Jiefang and Xinmin).

7. To submit other must-be materials considered by the public security Exit-Entry organs.

Time limit: the first application will be settled in 10 working days; the second application will be settled in 7 working days.

Charging standards: Permit for Traveling to and from Hong Kong and Macao, RMB 100 Yuan per permit; A one-time valid Signature, RMB 20 Yuan per piece; a many-time valid Signature, RMB 100 Yuan per piece.

Ⅲ.Travel on private business to Taiwan

Reference: MEASURES FOR THE CONTROL OF CHINESE CITIZENS TRAVELLING TO OR FROM THE REGION OF TAIWAN

Application procedures:

1. To fill in an Application Form for Shanghai Citizen to or from Taiwan;

2. To submit the residential registration booklet (or other certification of residence registration), valid ID. card;

3. To submit 3 recently-taken small 2-inch (48*33MM), full-faced and bareheaded photo chromes (the white background, the printing paper with mill finish);

4. Valid permit to Taiwan;

5. Former Permit for Traveling to and from Taiwan. If the holder loses his Permit for Traveling to and from Taiwan, please report a loss to the local police station, and then publish a certificate of declaring invalid in the newspaper of municipal level (Wenhui, Jiefang and Xinmin)

6. To submit other absolutely necessary materials considered by the public security Exit-Entry organs.

Time limit: 10 working days
